When Law Firms Starts “Beefing” on Social

How a little friendly competition turned into one of DM Law’s most entertaining and interesting social campaigns.

Client: DM Injury Law
Campaign: Jungle Law “Beef”
Timeline: Roughly the month of July
Platforms: Instagram, Facebook & TikTok
Role: Social Media Manager

The Challenge

Law firm social media has a reputation for being… well, predictable. And I hate to say it… boring.

Legal tips. Settlement announcements. Attorney photos. Educational graphics.

Blah.

And while that content has its place, I wanted to create something that felt more immediate, entertaining, and human.

Enter: Jungle Law.

What started as a back-and-forth between two personal injury law firms in the comment section of a comedy show roast advertisement quickly turned into a full-blown social media “beef.”

We wanted to fully lean into this moment.

The Strategy

The strategy was simple:

Treat social like a conversation, not a billboard.

Instead of planning every piece of content weeks in advance, we created content around what was happening in real time.

That meant:

  • Responding to Jungle Law’s content

  • Creating posts specifically for the ongoing conversation

  • Leaning into humor and friendly competition

  • Giving the DM Injury Law brand a stronger personality

  • Letting the audience become part of the joke

The goal wasn't to manufacture controversy.

It was to create a playful, recognizable moment that made people want to follow along.

The Creative

The best part of this campaign was that the content didn't feel like traditional law firm marketing.

It felt like social media.

We had an ongoing storyline, recurring jokes, reactions, and opportunities to build on what had already happened.

Every new post gave us another opportunity to escalate the bit.

And because the conversation was happening in real time, the content felt reactive rather than overly produced.

That was intentional.

We weren't trying to make a law firm account look like every other law firm account.

We were trying to make people actually want to see what we posted next.

The Results

Across 7 posts during the campaign:

20,583

Impressions

1,339

Engagements

6.5%

Engagement Rate

Campaign period: July 3–August 5, 2026

The campaign generated measurable engagement while giving the brand something equally valuable: a reason for people to interact with it beyond traditional legal content.

What I Learned

This campaign reinforced something I believe about social media:

Your brand doesn't always need to be more polished. Sometimes it just needs to be more human.

The content worked because there was an actual story happening.

There was a reason to comment.

There was something to react to.

And, most importantly, there was a personality behind the account.

Not every successful social campaign needs to start with a 30-slide strategy deck.

Sometimes it starts with:

“Wait… are we beefing with Jungle Law now?”

And you just run with it. 🥩

The Takeaway

The Jungle Law “beef” became one of my favorite examples of what can happen when you give a brand permission to have a personality.

It was strategic.

It was reactive.

It was measurable.

And, most importantly, it was fun to make.

Sometimes the best social content is the content that gives people a reason to stick around and see what happens next.
